Hello and welcome to another Goal Setting for Greatness linky. This is a weekly linky where we set ourselves goals for the week (or month) ahead and provide accountability and support for each other.
I set myself monthly goals, and the idea is that achieving my weekly goals will enable me to meet those monthly goals – which in turn will allow me to meet my long term goals. Whether you set weekly or monthly goals – or some other frequency – you are welcome to link up here, regardless of what type of blog you have.
On with the goals, then.
October Goals – Update
Increase my Income by 5% – as I said last month: it’s staying on here until I do it!
Stay on Track with Training – I have invested in a training course which requires a minimum of five hours’ work per week. I feel like if I keep up with it, I will make enough money to pay for the course and then some – the trick is to make sure I stay on track with it!
Exercise a Minimum of Five Times per Week – I’ve been doing PiYo for eight weeks, but I finished the timetable that came with the dvds this week. I know what I’m like; I am really good at making excuses not to exercise! I want to make sure I keep up my exercise routine.
Last Week’s Weekly Goals
Begin blocking my work – I did this, and it worked really well. I managed to get lots of work done ahead of time for a client, and to get some great posts published on my blog. The trick now is to stick with it, while I’m having a couple of super hectic weeks!
Print modules for training – When I set this goal, I didn’t realise that I’d not connected the printer to my new router. Last month I had four routers in four weeks, and each time they changed, I was very proud of myself for reconnecting the printer to the wifi network. On Thursday morning I spent hours trying to connect my printer to the wifi network. I tried everything. In the end, between the printer’s refusal to connect and the fact a few parts of it seem to have fallen off lately, I decided it was time to invest in a new one. No printing was done.
Workout five times – this also did not happen; the cold of doom lingers on, and my daughter now also has some sort of illness that involves her snoring, and being awake from 2-4am a lot of the time. I’m exhausted and took an executive decision that getting up at 5:30am to exercise would not be beneficial to either of us.
This Week’s Goals
Stay on top of my work – I am in London for two days this week, and although I’ve taken the decision to give up my day off with my daughter in order to stay on top of work, that still gives me only one day to do two days’ work!
Schedule a block of time for training – I really don’t want to get behind with my training, so I need to make sure that even on a busy week, I am dedicating time t oit.
Exercise five times – I am feeling a bit better this week, and I think the key is that if I’m up in the night with my daughter it’s fine to not get up at 5:30 – but I should still make time to exercise at some point during the day
