Goal Setting for Greatness 2015-08-24

Hello and welcome to another Goal Setting for Greatness linky. This is a weekly linky where we set ourselves goals for the week (or month) ahead and provide accountability and support for each other.

This linky was previously on my personal site, Single Mother Ahoy, but as I am putting all work, blogging and social media related content here, I thought it sensible to also have this linky over here too.

I set myself monthly goals, and the idea is that achieving my weekly goals will enable me to meet those monthly goals – which in turn will allow me to meet my long term goals. Whether you set weekly or monthly goals – or some other frequency – you are welcome to link up here, regardless of what type of blog you have.

On with the goals, then.

August Goals

Increase my Income by 5% – I feel like I have more chance of doing this in August, because I have more time for pitching and following up on leads. And for doing actual work for which I can invoice!

More work on the Background of the Blog – I have more ideas for things I want to do with the blog, including free downloads and landing pages. I want to work on getting all that sorted this month. The idea is that once I’ve produced my book and download, I have the structure in place to be able to send it out immediately.

Make a Dent in the E-Book – I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole e-book thing lately, and having more and more ideas. I think I have the idea decided now and with more time on my hands this month, I’ve no excuse! I think I’m going to schedule in a couple of mornings that I go straight from nursery drop-off to a local cafe so that I have no distractions or excuse.

Last Week’s Weekly Goals

Stay on top of everything – With several meetings and appointments last week, I knew I needed to get some real focus in order to stay on top of things. I actually managed to do that, and ended Friday afternoon with an almost completed to-do list!

Schedule posts for this blog – I wanted to make sure I could schedule three posts per week for this blog, including my weekly podcast. I’m really pleased to have managed that despite it being a busy week.

Write the first section of the e-book – I actually did this! I know, after weeks of having e-book related goals on my list and not managing to get any of them done, I’m as surprised as you are!

This Week’s Goals

Stay on top of everything –  I thought last week was busy… and then I booked even more in for myself this week! I like to keep one day clear of appointments to ensure I get my work done. This week, I don’t have one of those days. So I need to get my head down in a major way!

Keep up the website makeovers – I’m in a weird position where I’m trying to basically make over two sites at the same time. I have organised myself some to-do lists for each project, and my plan is to knock a couple of things off one or both of those lists every day.

Copy & paste blog posts for the e-book – I’ve written the first section of my e-book but the bulk of it will be repurposed blog posts. My goal for this week is to get those posts all copied and posted into one document so that I can set about editing them later.

Now it’s your turn! If you’d like to join in, please add the badge below to your post and link it up here.

Please note: if your post does not include a clear list of goals for the week/month ahead, it will be deleted without prior warning.
