Goal Setting for Greatness 2015-08-17

Hello! Welcome to Goal Setting for Greatness, a weekly linky where you can link up a post where you set goals for the week, and then support others. The idea is that we all have some accountability in doing so, and therefore achieve more.

This linky was previously on my personal site, Single Mother Ahoy, but as I am putting all work, blogging and social media related content here, I thought it sensible to also have this linky over here too.

I set myself monthly goals, and the idea is that achieving my weekly goals will enable me to meet those monthly goals – which in turn will allow me to meet my long term goals. Whether you set weekly or monthly goals – or some other frequency – you are welcome to link up here, regardless of what type of blog you have.

On with the goals, then.

August Goals

Increase my Income by 5% – I feel like I have more chance of doing this in August, because I have more time for pitching and following up on leads. And for doing actual work for which I can invoice!

More work on the Background of the Blog – I have more ideas for things I want to do with the blog, including free downloads and landing pages. I want to work on getting all that sorted this month. The idea is that once I’ve produced my book and download, I have the structure in place to be able to send it out immediately.

Make a Dent in the E-Book – I’ve been thinking a lot about the whole e-book thing lately, and having more and more ideas. I think I have the idea decided now and with more time on my hands this month, I’ve no excuse! I think I’m going to schedule in a couple of mornings that I go straight from nursery drop-off to a local cafe so that I have no distractions or excuse.

Last Week’s Weekly Goals

Pitch, pitch, pitch! – I set myself the goal of pitching to three new companies… In the end what I actually did was to send out a newsletter to several local businesses, and from that I got a couple of leads. I’m fairly proud of the newsletter I sent out too!

Begin the move – My goal was to prepare for this blog to “go live” this week. And look, I’m here! Nailed it.

List small e-book steps – My goal was to list a set of smaller steps for writing my e-book, and I’ve done that. The idea is that with several smaller steps laid out in front of me rather than the rather daunting “write a book” I might stand more chance of actually writing the book!

This Week’s Goals

Stay on top of everything – I have a few meetings this week, and am spending one full day at a client’s office. I need to make sure that I stay on top of everything and don’t allow things to slide!

Schedule posts for this blog – My posts at Single Mother Ahoy are pretty much ok; I have a reasonable schedule in place whereby I write, schedule and promote posts… this blog is still very new though, and I need to get into a routine with it.

Write the first section of the e-book – In theory, this is no more than a ten-minute job… So then there’s no reason I wouldn’t manage to achieve this!

Now it’s your turn! If you’d like to join in, please add the badge below to your post and link it up here.

Please note: if your post does not include a clear list of goals for the week/month ahead, it will be deleted without prior warning.
